I love the description of the chair!!

I have a gut feeling it is Norwegian so I checked a Norwegian FB page. Found 2 that are similar. Unfortunately the good people on that Forum are not sure who made or designed it; their best GUESS is an early Hans Brattrud chair for Dokka Mobler. ( no documentation)

The purple chair has a much higher back rest which might explain the brackets at the rear.

I think your chair may have been re upholstered at some  stage, which would explain the different cushion profile. 

Posting images anyway so you could do further research.

FWIW, I think the extra brackets might be parts of a mechanism that allows seat and back to adjust from upright to reclining positions.

@tktoo2. You are possibly correct as it is shown with a foot stool. I will go look for more photos!

EDIT; Yes the purple one has a reclining mechanism similar to the ones used on Alf  Svensson's  Contour chairs.

And the stool is definitely designed by Hans Brattrud and Frode Braathen for Dokka Mobler ; circa 1960.

@lexi, I think you are right about the re-up of the OP's chair. In fact all of the chairs pictured so far appear likely reupholstered to me. Nice-looking pieces, regardless.

Funny, I looked for this chair for weeks, couldn’t find it, and now seeing them pop up in searches. Google algorithm I suppose.
