Italian Table - Egidio Proserpio?  

I bought this table this week and am trying to find more info on the maker. It's hand signed on top "E Proserpio", twice for some reason.

From research online, I see there was an Egidio Proserpio who made some pieces for Gio Ponti in the early 50's. I could only find a couple of Ponti pieces attributed to this maker, and nothing else, and no tables that look like this one.

Any connection with Fratelli Proserpio? I found a very similar table online by Vittorio Dassi..

Does anyone know anything more about this table or maker? Thanks..
