Can anyone here help me identify the manufacturer of this chair? Also, if someone has an idea of what the original cushions would have looked like. I was told by one source that he believed the cushion would have been one piece.
Pictures showing an original chair with original cushion(s) would be fantastic!
Happy you found the answers to your questions.
I was pretty chuffed to be able to ID them, as identifying chairs is quite difficult, considering an awful lot of them look alike (especially the Norwegian ones)
An original advert is always a bonus !
Enjoy your chair.

Lexi.

Hey Lexi,
I remember reading something about this rule on the old website but cannot find the rules on the new website. Are they posted somewhere? Are we not supposed to say how much we paid for items as well, or is it just opinions on resale value? I love the Forum and don't want to be a scofflaw.
Thanks,
Mark
Hi Mark'
Good point about rules for new Forum; have no idea where they are posted.
(DA administrators please note)
I don't think there is any problem with mentioning how much you paid for items or, for that matter, comments on how much some piece of furniture sold for, somewhere or other,as part of a general discussion.
This Forum is not a valuation service and in my opinion this is a good thing.
Regards,
Lexi.
ps; I learnt a new word today " scofflaw"... thanks for that. I intend to use it as soon as the right occasion arises ! 😉

When I purchased the chair, the seller had told me the orange cushions were original. I was then told by another person that they doubted they were original because of how thin they were. After seeing your picture of the original ad, it does appear the cushions were very thin.
If you ever want to get the cushions redone to match the original thickness, you can still use the same covers--it's only the side boxing that needs to be cut down. Someone can just rip out the stitching on the top or bottom panel of the seat and back cushions, trim back the boxing, and reassemble. The foam itself can't be cut down; you'd have to get new inserts made.
I'd probably do it if it was my chair. The original thin cushions give it a more distinctive look, in my opinion. And for future reference, most upholsterers make too-thick cushions for vintage Scandinavian furniture! They're used to doing overstuffed American chairs and sofas.
