Hello to all, first of all I thank you for my approval on this forum and sorry for my (not perfect) English lenguage.I would like to receive an opinion from you about my (maybe original) Eames Lar chair. After a quick research on the Eames website I found that probably are from second generation production due to the missing label, the straight edges and the large shock mount. One more strange thing is the "AO" letters on the lower side of the chairs. Steel rod frame zinc black oxide. Shock mounts of 2 of them have been replaced. Colors: Parchment, Yellow lemon and elephant grey.
Thanks again in advance for your help
Not an expert, but...
Every original early black rod base I've seen here in the US has had black paint directly on steel (no zinc plating), not a black oxide finish.
I have never seen that style of screw (what we call "socket" or "socket head") on any US-made Eames chair.
If the thread pitch on the screws is metric, then I'd have to guess early Vitra production.
