I am hoping someone here can provide information about this dressing table / vanity unit.
Very often attributed (? ) to Arne Vodder. Hmmm. One seller even says designed by Arne Vodder and "edited" ,if you don't mind, by Olholm .
Many examples online but not one label or makers mark pictured.Quelle surprise !!
The legs are very like those found on other Olholm møbelfabrik vanity tables but that is where the similarity ends.
Any suggestions? Thoughts?
ps; Hope everyone is keeping well and coping with this social separation/ isolation situation.Difficult times indeed.

Hi Lexi, well it's a big mystery, I tried to figure it out already several years ago, but no result. Legs and screws of the Ølholm dresser are very similar, but in small details different, so I suppose it's not made by Ølholm. But by whom?
Just an advice, if you follow Michael Vodder at Pinterest (Michael Vodder seems to be member of the Vodder family ... seems! ...) you will find a lot of Vodder designs, and this dresser is part of it. It may be allowed to draw conclusions from this.

Study the details of this piece and I think you get something of an answer. The butt jointed construction is a quick indication of low end. The dovetails cut into an exposed particleboard drawer front are a confirmation of extremely low end.
Given the prominent AG Spejl branding, I actually would not be too surprised if the truth is that AG produced, which here means financed, the construction of these pieces under contract at some random volume workshop as a vehicle to sell an expensive mirror. Production of furniture in this manner was widespread from the low end to the high end. And it would be very very surprising if there was an architect designer associated with these or even a named non-architect designer.
I assume you saw the listing by Danish seller Retro Delux. You gotta love this description:
This vanity table is often attributed to Arne Vodder, but I can not find anywhere that he had work for "Ølholm møbelfabrik", but the drawers is very similar to the often known Arne Vodder drawers. Therefor we call it vanity table from Ølholm møbelfabrik, even though Arne Vodder sounds better we have to call it for what it is.
To Leif's point, this listing by a seller in Barcelona actually says it was designed by Arne Vodder for the Danish mirror factory AG Spejl.

Have you seen these other tables, also attributed to Vodder, but again without marks?
Actually, my mistake, the top one didn't have a Vodder attribution.
Here's the link if you want to see the rest of the photos:
After looking at a multitude of pieces with AG mirrors, including chests, dressing tables, and the secretary pictured, I think Leif's supposition makes the most sense. If AG had merely supplied mirrors to furniture makers, as I originally assumed, you would expect to find some pieces with other maker's marks. But every piece I found with AG labels had no other marks.
There isn't much information about AG online. I couldn't find anything about their history or even what city they were in.
@mark737. OK. A secretary/vanity unit posted on this forum a few weeks back.

More searching and eventually found the same secretary with both the AG label on the mirror AND an Olholm mark/stamp, as a bonus.
Have a good evening.

Aarhus Glarmesteri (AG) has existed since 1952.
Could be the one we are looking for. I sent them an email and asked for information.
