The elegant proportions, gently curved legs and tabletop corners, together with the dazzling pattern of the walnut veneer makes this piece a truly wonderful example of the sophisticated furniture design of that era. This piece was sourced from a Modernist Villa in Brno where it was first purchased as a part of the original furniture. The designer / producer of the table is unfortunately unknown. However the quality of the materials, the perfect attention to every detail and the overall craftmanship of the whole piece indicates that it is likely to be the product of the local manufacturers; UP Brno Factory – where the iconic architects Jan Vanek and later Jindrich Halabala worked as an Art directors. This table is in great vintage condition. It operates as an extendable table, with a full length of 170 cm. Recent restoration has fully revived the extremely rich colour of the entire piece, showing off the beautiful patterns on all surfaces. The entire piece has been hand finished by Shellac and Nitro varnishes in order to achieve a greater gloss finish.
