hi all,

anyone recognise this chair ?

i have a set of four. they seem to be in beech but i'm no expert.

i thought danish but might just be a later interpretation 🙂

Are there any marks at all on the underside.

I like the joinery in the back, looks nice quality, but I can't put a designer on it.

I am far from being a wood expert but it looks more like white oak to me.

It is white oak. The long rays are visible in the backrest slats. It is the fresh cut light color due to the thick layer of finish, probably a lacquer, that is on the wood. It is keeping the oak isolated and away from chemical reactions with chemicals in the air, so no Latina is developing.

I think later, and Danish is a pretty good guess. The splines look like maybe they are Weng̩?

My neighbors have a set of 8 of these in teak, and I do believe the spline is Wenge. They came with a large solid-top teak dinning table. I posted pics of these a while back, let me see if I can find the post .....
