Hello,
well Leif was so helpful with my last question on the borge mogensen daybed I thought I would try again...I purchased two of these beds or daybeds at the same time as I purchased that daybed and from the same seller.

With absolutely no marks on them except on the hardware that accepts the screw in legs (marked 'monster8' ?)
I thought I would submit and see if anyone has any input.

These two frames came with mattresses and are quite low to the ground (12 inches) but i was wondering if consensus would say these are twin beds or are they daybeds or benches and the mattresses added at some point and the cushions set aside...
It seems a little unusual if these are north american because I have personally never seen a twin bed with wooden lips to secure the soft coverings in place but no head board or foot board etc... perhaps this is a more common style in Scandinavia?

thanks for looking and all comments welcome

couple more pics
I have searched around quite a bit...I have found some similar designs but not exactly the same...dare I ask what the wood is? ...several knots seen on the frame from the bottom... there is no visible hardware except as pictured

Primary is teak. Secondary is a conifer: pine, fir, spruce. They all look about the same, especially after 50 years.

as always, thanks very much for the input on the wood Leif...I assume that those species do not do much to narrow down even where these were made...still curious if the height reflects a design for a child's bed or would a daybed have been designed that low to the ground...

They are scandinavian. Probably Danish. And I would say they are a daybed. I just found a Mogensen daybed that is probably lower than them.

I bought a couple of these at a flea market in Denmark when we lived there. They are just bed frames, I think, though I used one later as a daybed frame pushed up against a wall so the bolsters would stay on it. Mine didn't have the nicer raised edges but they were the same otherwise. I think I paid something like $7 apiece.

wow! lower than 12 inches off the floor! love how low slung scandinavian design keeps us using so many of our muscles as we age...;)
thank you Spanky and Leif for participating in this conversation with me. Much, much appreciated.

The top of the mattress is exactly at 12" off the floor. It is one of these:

(Not that one!)
