Another Paolo Piva table (copy/homebuild?) | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | abelian | General discussion
Location: New Zealand Dimensions: Width 46.5" Depth 22.75" Height 14.75" I purchased this table from an online listing with terrible photos. The finish quality of the welds (although strong) seems less than I would expect? The top bars have been constructed from straight lengths welded at the corner The top and bottom bars are spot welded at the points where the legs meet the top frame. I have never seen a confirmed original of these in person so don't know the usual quality or detail of fabrication. There are no makers marks that I can see (although I think this is normal). Any helpful comment from someone with first hand knowledge appreciated.

RE: Paolo Piva Alando Coffee table, real or fake? | 1 Relevance | 5 years ago | mark737 | Identification
Looks like one of the knockoffs. There's a lot of misleading info online from dealers about different versions being made by B&B Italia, but I was unable to find any reputable confirmation of this. And there's not much info on who made the knockoffs. I found one online that said it was made in the Netherlands but it didn't have any info on the maker. If you like the style and it's priced like a replica (under $500), then go for it.
I have | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | jbtirza | General discussion
I have had 2 of these. an oblong one and a square one. All I ever found was an attribution to B&B Italia. Probably because of the Paola piva style. This was an auction site however, with a nice value.

@ Vintastique 🙂 I picked up 'de reiger' in Izegem, probably you were somewhere else? Or otherwise I overlooked the Novalux chairs!! The alanda table is not so much my thing. Great scores nevertheless!

Thank you a lot, fastfwd! Can you tell me if the genuine glass edge is almost black, like on this picture? http://www.vintage-design-point.be/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Alanda-Pao...
I don't | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | glassartist | General discussion
I don't think it is. The "real" ones that are generally cited have cross bars directly under the glass delineating each frame pyramid quadrant. I had a square one like your example and understood it to be a Dania knock off. Having said this, I have yet to see original alanda literature.
What do you mean... | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | Starline | General discussion
What do you mean... What do you mean similar? Does that mean you want the look without the price as fakes are not well received around here. If looking at new genuine then a rare vintage piece is always better value and your Hilton was likely inspired or copied from the classic Adia Bed by Paolo piva. http://www.ebay.com/itm/B-B-Italia-Adia-Bed-Collectible-Item-/1710059006... |
