| RE: Slagelse Sofa 185 | 1 Relevance | 6 years ago | Herringbone | Identification | |
| @mvc Thanks anyway for writing the mail. You don’t have to feel stupid about it, it is pretty often the case that the family is not quite right about certain designs. A couple of days ago I had contact to a Dane who didn’t even know that his grandparents once owned a furniture company. Anyway: please let me know what Dennie told you. I‘m a bit surprised the sofa shows up there, to be honest. | |||||
| RE: Maralunga Sofa Faux Leather | 1 Relevance | 6 years ago | mvc | Identification | |
| @adcvintage No, you misunderstood me, I didn't say it was a knockoff, I can't judge that from this photo. I couldn't even judge it from a better photo. And as you can see, nobody else stepped in, because it's an uninteresting sofa. | |||||
| RE: Ib Kofod or Svend Aage Larsen?? | 1 Relevance | 6 years ago | mvc | Identification | |
| @wesemael Well, but that question didn't arise whether the two "Larsens" worked for Faarup or not. And as we know, the DFI is not always "seriously documenting". | |||||

| There are some France and Søn pieces that were marked. Very few, but they exist. Probably because France and Søn was run by Charles France, who was not a Dane, and a new company in the early 1950s, it had an entirely different idea about the purpose and unspoken rules of furniture marks, so nearly all their furniture was marked. But even you should follow MVC’s advice and compare against the details of other pieces. France pieces were very precisely and uniformly made and didn’t change much so it is much easier than with hand made to order cabinetmaker pi ... | |||||
| RE: Teak Extension Table - Dyrlund, Rosengaarden? | 1 Relevance | 6 years ago | mark737 | Identification | |
| Good morning, I am now awake and looking at more extension tables. Just to add to the CJ Rosengaarden discussion, these tables by Ansager and Vejle Stole both have Rosengaarden slides. There was a Moreddi table that also appeared to have the same dark brown metal slides but there was no close-up shot to confirm the maker. Also, I came across the AM table in the third photo with the rosewood inlays around the edge, though this one has double inlays. Anyway, it seems pretty clear that a number of Danish makers used Rosengaarden slides and I've still yet to ... | |||||
| RE: Eames EA117 (4-Star Base) missing parts? | 1 Relevance | 6 years ago | jcalca | Repair | |
| ... says "Made in Norway". When I "found" the chair it was in a very bad state but after some elbow grease and removing of the arm rests (a lot of pitting), I thought this is a beauty. I'm located in europe and I already had contact to Vitra but they said they don't have any spare parts for an 4-star base and had no information on the parts I need. I also contacted Design Restoration, they were very kind and asked for pictures. but after I provided some, I never heard from them again. So I think they also didn't know what parts are needed. I would love to get t ... | |||||

| @tktoo2 Thanks for your kind words and the tip about the torsion bar! Sadly ringchairtech didn't respond. @fbndny Thank you very much, I was searching for hours and hours to get a look at this. I'm not sure if the part is just a simple ring with thread because the hole is conical, so I would guess there is a counter-fitting part to it. Since I didn't receive an answer from ringchairtech, I today bought the same base online. It should be here next week and if its not to hard to disassemble I will have a look and make a photo. If I will get a response from the ... | |||||

| Yes, it launched in 53 and sank in 56 just south of Nantucket island after running into the Swedish ship the Stockholm. It was one of the top shipwreck dives for years but apparently it's now just a disintegrated lump. Many divers took home china and silver but I didn't see any reports of anyone with a sofa or coffee table. | |||||

| @mark737 Good morning Mark, no, I didn't stay up all night, I went to sleep when Trump already declared himself the winner after only a few states were counted, so I decided not to get up until the morning when the police will take him out of the White House. As of 11:00 CET this morning, it seems to be a close race. | |||||

| Yes, they were the first network to call it for Biden last night and right-wing Twitter is furious over it. It was odd they called it with so many outstanding votes, and didn't call Florida for Trump when he had a big lead. Trump campaign is announcing they've won PA but still around 1 million votes out. | |||||

| Posted by: pardicity Hi all —I was fortunate enough to find an Eames 4x2 storage unit just sitting by the road the other day. I'm guessing a house was being sold and whoever was responsible for cleaning it out didn't realize the significance of the piece.Anyway, I'm trying to both determine if it is an authentic piece and figure out an approximate manufacturing date. Unfortunately, the piece is currently disassembled and the only photos I have of it fully assembled are at night time, when it was found. In case you can't tell, it is a 4x2 unit with sliding v ... | |||||
