| RE: Really dissatisfied with new Eames Lounge Chair - other owners' experiences appreciated | 2 Relevance | 6 years ago | RustyDog | General discussion | |
| Bought my chair 10+ years ago in Edelman leather. It's always looked great, even with the beating it takes from children and pets. But I agree that it didn't come from the factory in super-comfortable form. I bottomed out the seat cushion foam every time (71", 190 lbs). I bought a 5/8" thick yoga mat in dense foam off Amazon ($25), cut a couple pieces and fit them in at the bottom of the foam. Now I bottom out against a dense yoga mat, which is much more comfy. I've noticed that the seat cushions in the UK have much more dense foam than the seat cushions in ... | |||||

| RE: Help identifying maker ~Hans Olsen 'roundette' dining table & chairs or design copy? | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Kyle Barrett | Identification | |
| My opinion on it is less favourable! Haha. Having sat on one of the three-legged versions (though, of course there is a four-legged version, which I will come back to) it does not feel particularly comfortable or stable, I would not enjoy dining in it for a longer period. On it's own merit the chair is quite ugly with just vertical lines and on it's own merit the table is ugly with the inconsistent apron. Neither designs look particularly nice unless they are together and nicely packed away. The packed away aspect itself, feels like gimmick rather than func ... | |||||
| Sandvik (?) Dining Chair ID | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | coastcoaster | Identification | |
| Hello, I am trying to determine the age and any other information about this petite dining chair. The underside of the seat is labelled "Sandvik & Co." and "Norway" and with safety warnings in English. It's possible, however, that the seat is not original to the chair frame--the plywood is a very different color from the frame, and there are several unaligned screw holes. Reverse image search didn't turn up anything, so I'm posting here in hopes anyone has information or knowledge about this design. Thank you! Attachment: PXL_20220215_201522201-mi ... | |||||

| @mcosta You didn’t do anything. It’s a bug. It says you are banned but you can log in anyway. The pictures are probably too large. They must not be bigger than 2MB. Hope, you get the correct jars and make your father happy. | |||||
| Frosted lamp diffuser | 2 Relevance | 4 years ago | 20thld | Identification | |
| Can anyone help me to ID this big glass lamp? I only own the curved glass diffuser (about 60x40 cm), I didn’t find the structure. The two metal plates and screws are made of brass (painted of metallic grey). It looks as a design of the ‘80s (Artemide, Flos?), but materials and manufacture seems from ‘60 or ‘70s (the frosted hand curved glass is similar to Some Max Ingrand diffusers for Fontana Arte). | Thanks @tktoo2. I need to digest this, but I would like to know - is the Natural colored Watco Danish oil tinted or will it darken wood? Do you know how it compares to the Formbys? That stuff didn't seem to darken wood much, which I liked. | |||||
| Br-50 60s Eero Saarinen tulip arm chair disassembly | 2 Relevance | 4 years ago | Dahsam2000 | Repair | |
| Hello, I recently just purchased a tulip arm chair stamped br-50 on the base. I was wondering if this model of the chair is able to be taken apart? There are no screws, just these metal tab things under the cushion (see image). Also, it doesn’t swivel. Were there versions of this chair that didn’t swivel? | Help identifying floor chair — possibly 1960s Nanna Ditzel design? | 2 Relevance | 2 years ago | N4IM4 | Identification | |
| Hi, I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me identify this orange chair? I bought it 3 years ago from someone who didn't have much information on it at the time, but I've recently realised it looks very much like a piece from Danish designer Nanna ditzel's 1960s Villette range, called the Polyether Chair. Does anyone have any info? Many thanks! Attachment: orange-seat-crop_smaller.jpeg | |||||
| RE: Mystery Chair - Nanna Ditzel? Adrian Pearsall? | 2 Relevance | 2 years ago | mark737 | Identification | |
| ... that had a big catalog business, but they didn't make their own furniture, as far as I can tell. So, who actually designed and made this chair is still unknown, but I think it's safe to rule out ditzel and Pearsall, and Wormley for that matter. Montgomery Ward did sell some interesting furniture back in the 60's, including Plycraft's Mulhauser chairs, and Cherner chairs (which they oddly attributed to Paul McCobb in one catalog). They also sold some Pearsall-like designs, though we know other companies like Kroehler and Norwalk made these styles as well ( ... | |||||
| Italian Dining Chair | 2 Relevance | 2 years ago | DanishTiev | Identification | |
| We got our dining chairs through an estate auction 10 years ago - I tried to figure out its maker/designer at the time but gave up as I didn't have anything to work with. We were only told that the chairs were from Italy, likely in the 50s, and that was someone's words. I took one apart to prepare it for upholstery and determine what materials I'd need for all dining chairs. I found the tag under the fabric (along with many writings - that appear to be numbers, etc.). Here are two pictures - the chair itself and the tag - if anyone knows anything - feel free ... | |||||

| Sorry, I didn’t realize the maximum file size was 2MB.Thank you for taking the time to respond. And indeed, it’s not purely about the value.I really like the set, and there are six of them. We've been using them for about ten years now.But now that I'm considering buying different ones and possibly selling these, I’d like to get an estimate. More than anything, though, I’m curious about the origin of these chairs. Thanks so much for thinking along with me, and have a lovely day! | |||||
