| Wow feel the love in here!... Wow feel the love in here! Yeah that's from the ebay listing, no it's not mine, although if you really want a link to my eBay account I can give you, although I don't have anything to sell (I just buy lol). I confess I didn't read the listing properly, either that or they hadn't included these details when I read it. I'm a student and certainly can't afford a chair for £159 let alone six of them so yes, cheap knockoff certainly welcome. I'm not spamming by starting a new topic, so I won't apologise. Maybe I'm just more intereste ... | |||||

| Rob, seriously, what did I... Rob, seriously, what did I ever do to cross you? You asked me WHY I asked and I gave you all the relevant information, as people can read in that thread. Why else would I need to know? I'm furnishing my room and want things to stick in it, I made that abundantly clear on many occasions in the past - you KNEW that, so why do you continue to ask?! I've already apologised for not reading the auction description in full that one time, hang me already? And as for an item already being on DA - this place has hundreds of designers from ... | |||||

| Hi Pegboard, No they need... Hi Pegboard, No they need not be new at all, used would even be better actually. But they do need to be very close to the original, so close that you could hardly tell the difference. Although they will be altered quite heavily, it is best if the starting point is something which have the right details. Maybe there are no knock-off's which are good enough available... -Do you have an idea which one you think is the best one? If you don't want to make free advertising for a knock-off here, you (and anyone else) can email me here: ... | |||||

A custom-made grey laminate (yes!) suite including an oversized bed that featured a two-tier headboard with built-in lights, roll-top cabinetry, swing-out night tables, and a footprint that mysteriously veered out at the bottom. The only thing that saved me from stubbing my toes nightly were the lights (yes!) installed on the bumpers (yes!) on the foot of the bed. Where'd he find such a bed? Why, his good friend the prop-designer custom built i ... | |||||

| Thanks, Ark. | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | fastfwd | General discussion | |
| Thanks, Ark. Yeah, it was a gift from my first wife; matched our wedding rings. Years ago, I casually searched the web for the designer's name and didn't find it, but when you posted your response this morning, I decided I wasn't really satisfied with "no particular designer other than the design team" -- I mean, they DO have names even if they're part of a team, right? -- so I dug a little deeper. Made a couple of phone calls and discovered that the lighter was designed in the late 60s by Robert Hocq. Hocq had invented the gas cigarette lighter back in the ... | |||||

| . I tried the soap finish a while ago but didn't have much success, it came out looking quite dirty, hard to explain but I wasn't happy, expect it was the timber not the finish. Another finish I've discovered recently that is equally low tech and gives a nice result is to simply finely sand the wood and rub in and repeatedly buff ordinary vaseline and then finish with bees wax and buff again. It looks especially good on dark woods and feels very nice. | |||||

| I'm sorry Koen My Swedish is even worse, but I can divulge the meaning, so I'll just reply in English! I didn't mean to insult your English, I know it's your 4th language!. Please come back to it so we can all share your wisdom! To my knowledge, limed oak is 'blonder' and paler, but doesn't lose it's graining or texture. | |||||

| I thank you unreservedly for... I thank you unreservedly for building this website, and I'm sure many people on here would be glowing with pride if they had done so too. I wouldn't bother spending time on here if I didn't think that your website is a fantastic resource. The knowledge is of course provided by the community, and thanks to everybody for that which I have received, and I've enjoyed making small contributions myself. Now this is a very good community resource, and like all communal design, should be open and tolerant to the perhaps idiosyncratic ... | |||||

| ... stuff there anyway what with the double shipping rates as someone else mentioned. I lived in Denmark for a year in the late 90s. Postal rates were more than double what they were in the US. I don't know about freight costs but since pretty much everything in the country cost at least 25% more than in the US, and sometimes a LOT more, I would assume they are high, too. Also, in all the second-hand shops, flea markets and MCM-type shops that I found (and I found a LOT), I rarely saw anything that you can't find here. Meaning, they exported a lot. They di ... | |||||
