| Herman Miller's phone number | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | fastfwd | General discussion | |
| Herman Miller's phone number is +1 616 654-3000. Have you called them? Your chair is out of warranty (doubly so if you aren't the original owner or if you didn't purchase it from an authorized dealer), so you'll have to pay for the replacement bushing, or snap-ring or whatever, that your chair needs... But it can't be THAT expensive. http://www.hermanmiller.com/DotCom/jsp/contact/contactEmail.jsp | |||||

| The problem with lying is its easy to get caught. So silly over this. You bought this from my husband and I. The picture is right outside our house and you took it for way to cheap, I wasn't home and you lowballed my husband who didn't know better. It was not a garage sale and he showed you on the Eames website that it was real. This is why I'm not selling any more of my fathers collection to you. Again, so dumb to lie about this. | |||||

| Thank you all for your opinion I did bid on the item but the winner's bid was higher. Though I liked those tables, I didn't think they were worth more than $60, and certainly not $350! I was curious if these were a "real deal" because I don't want to miss a similar opporunity in the future. But looks like they are not. I understand the basic business principles and this seller should not be blamed for the pricing. However, it seems to me that he is trying to make an easy money, because he didn't even care to clean-up/refinish the item (item description st ... | |||||

| ~ This thread made me put down the highball, and search for another example of this base...with no luck..in one of my many yet to be read books. I did find a book that I didn't realize that i had "The HermanMiller Collection 1952" (Acanthus Press), and noted that all Nelson benches have a base exactly like all others that I've seen..including mine. I wish that I knew how to share a photo of one particular page (pg 16-17) where as the ad shows an optional cabinet for phonograph/radio to set on top of the Nelson base. per book: #4743 Cabinet for phonograph- ... | |||||

| Bent Ply I did just read the Bent Ply book. Ha! Found it at the library. didn't have any good info to use in my present project, but helped give me some insights. Yes, I probably will try to add some "salt" to the backs to better match up with the rest of the chair. | |||||

| Well Hello! Hi Mark. What a surprise. I didn't expect a response from someone so close to the house. That's great to hear and I'm glad DWR will take care of this. I had no doubt that these pieces were "period". I just had seen others around in pictures floating on the internet. Thanks for dropping us a line. | |||||

| Does anyone know WHY they... Does anyone know WHY they did these chairs as two tone? What's the point? Although a friend found a pure white armshell with removable cover. The cover didn't have any tape or anything! It came off completely clean. Which was great, because the red vinyl cover was trashed and the shell was mint underneath. | |||||
| what hg of pressure were you... | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | HPau | General discussion | |
| what hg of pressure were you... what hg of pressure were you using? I'm suprised it didn't force it down, my pump goes up to 29.5 but maybe if you were using one of the venturi systems its less? I've never used the net, often just the bag straight on, even on curved work there are never air pockets, have found holding the bag the right way as the air evacuates works. | |||||

| ... let it dry for about 1-2 hours. Had to let it dry some to get the painters tape to stick. While it was drying, I trimmed off as much excess veneer as I could, trying to allow only about 1/4" hanging over the edges. This took repeated fittings to see how close I was without cutting too much. I did try a dry run once to see if it would help to form the wood for the final gluing, but it did not help any and was a waste of time. Applying painters tape was a real boost to the process as I otherwise could not get the bag alone to keep the veneer tight to the wood. ... | |||||

| PU | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| PU I bought a very nice wool rug from Target a few years ago with a simple blue geometric design. After I finished my basement space, I put it down there, and every time I used the space heater, the rug began to smell. When I would hang it outside for air, it smelled even worse because the sun would heat it. Maybe that's typical for wool rugs, but I didn't appreciate the side effect. | |||||

| I'm fond of wood fences. | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | william-holden-... | General discussion | |
| I'm fond of wood fences. The below image is a fence similar to the redwood fence my father designed & built around our swimming pool in the 1970's, though ours didn't have a horizontal middle brace-- just vertical slats. Personally, I think I'd shy away from something as fully- enclosed as the translucent panels in the first pic-- too claustrophobic, no view, no breeze filtering through. | |||||
