| tchp... didn't know about... tchp... didn't know about the eBay policy. What compelled me to post, was not only the eye raising effects of seeing a gun in the wide open, but the contrast between high and gruff design. High design presents itself as isolated and sheltered while gruff is ...well gruff. Together they create an unusual visual tension. Bent, Uzi's are a design classic. Consider going antique...a Musketoon will certainly elicit ooohhh's and ahhhh's, and are enjoyably satisfying to handle. | |||||

| Another rarity I didn't mention... The Soft Seating Group from Steelcase, again, only produced for a short period of time. The sofas now sell in the $5000 range... great, modern, space-age design from the 1970's http://cgi.ebay.com/Space-age-Warren-Platner-Steelcase-sofa-Panton-Eames... | |||||

| I didn't know Landuyt had... I didn't know Landuyt had anything to do with mewaf! Do you have some images of the work he did for them? My father works in an administrative building in Courtrai/Kortrijk, old mewaf-units often found their way into our house. The quality is really good, but it lacks somewhat elegance or playfullness to adapt in an interior, I allways thought. Having found the little metal organiser I am curious if they made things that were a bit more daring... Do enlighten me! | |||||

| Well I didn't like sitting... Well I didn't like sitting in a hole so I decided to try my hand at re upholstery. I found some fake leather that matched exactly and then I began rebuilding the chair. Couldn't find webbing so used the old and added some newer stuff on top of the webbing then new foam and batting. I think it looks better but I still have that virgo sense going that maybe I could have done a better job. Will do the other one tomorrow. | |||||

| I didn't know there was something called "calico ash." The ash I've seen on Eames chairs looks as I expect ash to look -- with a defined hairline border around each area of the grain, and similar dark pin-flecks in the more "open" areas of the wood. Your calico ash doesn't seem to present those characteristics. . . | |||||

| Didn't care for the rag - but... Didn't care for the rag - but my condolences nonetheless. They got to where they only featured homes that were too perfect. I like my modern with a side of eclecticism. | |||||

| Link didn't work for me... I wouldn't be of much help anyway as I've never seen a vintage Dondolo in person. I would guess you've an authentic piece on your hands if the quality is up to snuff. Lovely chair. | |||||
