| that makes perfect sense You rejected art, pretty much altogether. It didn't work for you on some or many levels. Its a hard road indeed. (I have much the same issues with art, to this day, and im sure that is obvious) It fails often. But it sounds like a big overreaction to me. You sound more than a bit resentful in your tone. "The STENCH of it.... " etc. But totally understandable why you would not want to go near it any more. | |||||

| I like redheads... Especially pale skinned ones, with freckles. There you have it, something you didn't know about me. But no, I'm not an art dealer. And no, I don't hate the stuff I sell. And come on. "I'm too practical to see half the stuff that is there" sounds like you trying to rationalize me to yourself. It's not that in the least. It's that I can't be arsed to even want to. | |||||

| Yes, thank you Vintagesque. ... Yes, thank you Vintagesque. Thanks to your identification, I discovered the excellent Fritz Hansen museum site. Probably, many on the forum already knew about it; I didn't. Here's the URL. http://www.fritzhansen.com/fh/microsites/museum/htmlversion/museumframe_... | |||||

| Dude. Didn't you say you already have a job? Why do you also want to be in the used-furniture business? Since you're a bookkeeper -- or "numbers guy" or whatever -- why didn't this occur to you: 1. Collect the $3500 (or $4500, or $8800) that you're planning to spend on inventory for your furniture store. 2. Spend $200 of it on that "awesome comfortable" chair you've had your eye on. 3. Invest the rest in something that can make $150 without even trying: an index fund, or municipal bonds or TSLA puts or something. 4. Profit. | |||||

| ... "You picked some guy as an example of a starving artist. And only because his estate was worth something NOW. You didn't address my points." Some guy? I picked some guy? One of the best abstract expressionism painters in history, and a shining example of a true starving artist. You danced around the points, after I put them right in your face. I used you're starving artist against you, and you couldn't come back from it, because you're artists aren't starving. He was truly starving regardless of the estate value now, which is worth $30,000,000. I showed ... | |||||

| ... brought home 2 years ago without any knowledge of the creator. I'm sitting on hundreds of items I don't know anything about, I just bought because of the design, only to find out later it's worth a lot of money. That's what made me want to give up sealcoating to follow this dream, was because of my love of art, and what it turned out to be once I I.D.'d it, even tough I perform art everyday on driveways. The treasure is knowing that something I bought off design, and my eye to see it, is worth something when I research it. And not just $9.99... Not goodwill ... | |||||

| Hundevad secretary lock You are really swift! Sorry to have sent you also an e-mail since I didn't know if this is going through to you. Anyway, I'm here in New York and a locksmith looked at it, took it apart and told me it is better to get a new lock. Any suggestion? | |||||

| .... You shot down nothing. You picked some guy as an example of a starving artist. And only because his estate was worth something NOW. You didn't address my points. My point was that even the relatively successful "careerists" -- the good and well documented contemporary artists (that will be hawked by guys like you later on) are not making heaps of money NOW. They pay 50% to their galleries, and more often than not have a day job, even in their later years. My other point which you conveniently didn't bother to address was KEANE. Highly collectable, but l ... | |||||

There's millions of collectors, on all scales, not just the 1,000 that frequent here. Just because you think something is art, doesn't mean they will. And just because they think something is art, doesn't mean you will. I'm thinking for everybody. For you, and all of them, so back off a little bit and try to understand. This stuff you call junk brings as much as the pieces you talk about here on a regular basis. That ... | |||||

| ... No wonder you keen eye has found it. The chess set I was referring to was not anything close to POP big, just that slightly oversized cheap and lightweight wooden set that is quite common and stored in the board that is a box too. See them all the time. But you found a way to seguay my comment on the bad chess set into a big AD for your giant movie prop sunglasses. Nice going. But you didn't address my main point. Understandably. That you are using this forum to ADVERTISE all of your stuff! That is not allowed on this forum as I recall... you do it by trot ... | |||||

| ... lamp, and it's pretty damn wicked to look at at night. The giant chess set. Have you ever heard of a company called "Think Big" from NY? They specialized in oversized items. They provided all the pieces for the movie "Big" with Tom Hanks, and was connected to Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Their products are highly sought after, and demand the big bucks. I have a pair of 4ft long chrome aviator's hanging on my wall from "Think Big". They're a museum piece. In case you didn't know, highly oversized items are very desirable, and that giant mid century che ... | |||||

| Proof! I knew this identification was right beyond any reasonable doubt, but I still didn't have the smoking gun. Johannes Aasbjerg was a hard character to pin down; took almost a year. The sideboard is model 246, handmade by Aasbjerg and sold by his company: "Excellent Furniture Company." It dates to the early 60s. And I've got a lot more documentation and a great story to go along with it. Thanks Henry! More to come. Below is the original receipt for the sideboard in the photo. Identical to mine. | |||||

| Emphasized..... Both sets are "original pairs" and look good displayed together for sure which is how my sets live, side by side. I didn't intend to be a smart ass......so no malice intended! I'd post pictures but have trouble pulling that off on this site. It would be nice if you could just compress a picture and post it without bothering with the bs of posting it to another site. I enjoy this forum and would like to share some of my treasures here but alas I'm tech challenged sometimes! | |||||

| The funniest apart you Pualanna is that you're so clueless, you think you're gonna solve the world's issues by blaming an american made truck. If you didn't just blame America for your problems, you'd know that the majority of roads here are polluted by Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche, Volvo, Saab, Infiniti, Acura, and Lexus, followed by VW, Toyota, Nissan, and then Honda. Or giant semi's made by Volvo. American cars are the minority in America. You talk about big powerful vehicles. What about small powerful vehicles? Are they ok?
