| Thanks! I'd been anxious | 1 Relevance | 8 years ago | mgee76 | Repair | |
| Thanks! I'd been anxious about it for a couple of weeks, so it feels good to have it all finished. Hopefully the client is satisfied. It does seem kind of a shame to cover up all the nice Ash ply, but whoever 'fixed' these chairs previously really didn't leave me with too many options, even with a dark Mahogany tone... just too many screw holes and bits of damage to color in. | |||||

| We used to have a set of the 42s and i thought they were supremely comfortable---but they started to get wobbly and I didn't feel like constantly policing everyone not to scrape them across the floor as they scooted up to the table...so I sold them and got some M | |||||

| hi john, it does look really similar, and yet not. there's a thread here : https://www.designaddict.com/forum/General-discussion/Help-dating-Knoll-I... which refers to a different knoll desk that i have but which also has some pics from the knoll catalogue that might help. i have a knoll pedestal desk that is really similar to the one that you have except for a few differences (you can see in the pics attached). as you can see the chrome band is different, as is the placement of the locks. i also added a pic of the interior of the modesty panel in case you ... | |||||
| Spanky, that was incredibly | 1 Relevance | 8 years ago | rich6705 | Identification | |
| Spanky, that was incredibly helpful! I didn't know that the weave was called hopsack, or that hopsack is authentic for a Womb Chair. The fabric is either nylon or polyester, and the color is very hard to photograph. In brighter light and in natural sunlight, it does resemble an Eames sofa in Girard Midnight Blue that I found online. Also, do you, or anyone here know when the plastic feet were used? I've done a lot of looking around here, and can only find info on the earliest feet, and the later ones. Thanks again! | |||||
| Designer name of my dutch brown / lime leather daybed sofa and chairs? | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | isenberg | Identification | |
| As I need to sell this nice sofa / chair combination, bought it used a year ago, I'm wondering about its origin. The previous owner said it was created by a Dutch designer, but didn't know more. No name tags could be found on it. It is mainly brown leather with lime green leather parts. While browsing around it looks similar to some works from Martin Viesser, but I could not find the very same. Maybe the audience can tell more? | |||||
| Teak easy chair ID help | 1 Relevance | 8 years ago | Black and Teak | Identification | |
| Y'all, sorry (that's what a Texan in Canada says), I am spinning my wheels over this chair. The horizontal back supports, the angle of the back legs, and I'm coming up with nothing. Seemed Jeppesen-y, France and Son-y to me, but I'm really too green at this to really know. It's not mine, so these are the only photos I could get without waving a "Hey this might be valuable" flag over head. I didn't find any maker's marks and it's in amazing condition. Any thoughts? | |||||
| Giving me Adrian Pearsall vibes, but what do I know? | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | BernieC | Identification | |
| Just picked up this sectional sofa and the wood casing and shape of the backrests point towards Adrian Pearsall, but just wondering if anyone might have more information. I dropped off at the upholsterer immediately so didn't get a chance to fully examine, but I do know that the legs are not original. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks | |||||
| Weird "reclining" Danish-style lounge chair ID? | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | mgee76 | Identification | |
| These chairs are solid Walnut. I'm thinking American and not Baughman, but I've never seen them before now. The back and seat slide, slightly, to adjust into a reclined position. But not really. They'd be a lot nicer if they didn't have that feature. They're pretty decently constructed, although these need to be repaired in a lot of places. I don't know if the ottomans are a match... doesn't really seem like it. Thank you. | |||||

| ... though this store has NEVER had ANY good lamps in the hundreds of times I've been there. I'm not kidding. None. Ever. So you can imagine my shock when there was a vintage Nelson bubble almost falling off the narrow shelf. Twenty bucks. I don't really have anywhere to hang it but I've always loved the warm glow of the vintage ones so I think i'm gonna hang onto it for now and try to work out a place for it. After those finds, plus a Cathrineholm lotus piece that I didn't notice was rather beat up because i was pretty excited at that point, I went back ... | |||||
| cracked seat rail in Wishbone chair | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | Spanky | Repair | |
| So i got this little surprise when I stripped one of a set of eight Wishbone chairs to redo. I had no idea it was there; the chair didn't feel wobbly at all, but I also didn't put any pressure on the paper cord seat. If I had, I probably would have noticed that sagged more than it should. Anyway, I slathered it with Titebond and clamped the heck out of it and now it's nearly impossible to see where the crack was. My question: do I need to reinforce it any further? I don't think the glue bond will ever fail but I'm worried that it will crack again along ... | |||||

| I purchased this wall unit a few years ago from a local thrift store that is notorious for losing parts and damaging furniture before it make it to the floor. However they didn't damage this piece, it's in excellent condition but missing the two sliding doors on the bottom unit and the two pieces of sliding glass that go on the top unit. If anyone has extra doors for this unit that they would like to sell or trade please let me know. Thanks! | |||||
| Reupholstered Older Womb Chair. Is this Knoll fabric? | 1 Relevance | 8 years ago | rich6705 | Identification | |
| I have an older Womb Chair (plastic glides on the bottom of the feet) that I acquired about 2 years ago. According to the person I got it from, the original owner had it since it was new, and the owner's wife had it reupholstered about 5 years earlier. The couple supposedly had a lot of money, and hopefully she didn't skimp on the fabric. The job itself does look very good. Is there any way to tell if Knoll Fabric was used? I know very little about textiles, so any help would be appreciated. Many thanks! | |||||
