| It should be obvious that the Smart 4Two isn't intended to compete with other subcompacts; its unique attribute is its extreme short length, which enables it to park where where no other car can. Like it or not, this is the direction that the urban car is headed, one way or another. It is possible (I haven't researched this) that poor mileage -- based on an expected miracle number ? -- is the result of drivers using the car as a highway vehicle, where its poor aerodynamics (tall and short, not low and slippery) would work against efficiency. Also, it's l ... | |||||

Wood is expensive and the kinds of craftsmen you need to make quality cabinetry are expensive. Take a look at Daniel Donnelly's site. He is copying both the basic cabinet group and the thin-edge group. They cost as much or more than vintage pieces in excellent condition. Again, I'm sure that is because they are very expensive to produce. I really don't understand why you would enc ...

| Thanks for the replies guys... Thanks for the replies guys -- I tried using a bit of Brasso on the inside of the planter and, welp, it appears the things simply got a brass coating as I managed to rub it off on a small portion. So I'm leaving it. It's beautiful in some areas and hideous in other, more prominent, areas. C'est la vie. I guess when you brass-plate something, you kind of dictate whether or not it can be polished... | |||||

But given time and the opportunity to try various toys, they will soon let you know which they prefer. It?s a bit like food. Give them heavily salted or sugary foods and they will prefer those to less 'tasty' foods. I have often felt that giving babies and small children whole packets of crisps (potato chips), or candy as I often observe parents doing, is overdosing or over-stimulating the child with sugar or salt. Likewise with ...

| Ho ho ho Well, Don says he wants to make U-shaped chair shell pieces from wood "laminates" (veneers) so this is either a male form with the veneers pressed to it in a vacuum bag, or the veneers clamped between a male and a female form. I have done both, though not a deep shape such as is needed here. As the form is time-consuming to make, if all the parts can be made on the same form it would be an advantage. But the design will dictate that. | |||||

Nor is there anything about their beliefs and values that determines that the brothers sit in opposition to each other. Nor is there anything about their beliefs and values that dictates that the brothers ought to be placed that distance apart from each other. | There are many factors that dictate the shape and size of a residence (or any other building); the tall and narrow house may be the response to unavoidable economic, zoning, and/or real estate issues. That said, there are many kinds of "modern" just as there are many kinds of fish, or trucks, or movies: to each its own reason for being. I like to compare the residence to other consumer choices and to other kinds of manufactured objects. Should we expect every Chevy or Ford sedan to be a unique and individual response to its owners lifestyle ? How much wou ...
