| Kate, try Google Docs before | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | Spanky | General discussion | |
| Kate, try Google Docs before you commit to an Excel spreadsheet. I've used both for spreadsheets and I think Google Docs is (are?) easier and cleaner. Plus you can put it on the Cloud though I guess that's Apple products only? My kids got me on it and we all have Macs so I don't know anything else these days. I should do this too and on mine I will have a column for which of my three kids has dibs on what so that WWIII doesn't break out upon my death. (Just kidding, they get along pretty well.) | |||||

| ok , since fedfan is still in the mensroom... I have 10 confessions to share. ~Smell is important. ~People keep their cars and their undergarments in about the same shape. ~I know how to fly an airplane. yup. ~Quonset huts make my kind of horny. ~I saw something today in a "first dibs" gallery that has my attention. They need to sharpen their pencil. ~My running shoes aren't Gucci. ~I never know what to wear. ~You can't blame the holiday's..you were already fat in September. ~I could make a decent living selling flyswatters and re-conditioned tombstones. ~I ... | |||||

| The 1163 on the label denotes November 1963 as the date of manufacture. As for value, this board isn't for asking for appraisals but you can determine value easily enough by looking at sales and auction results online for this chair. You may have to track them over a few months if there aren't a lot available at the moment, but it's a pretty common chair so it shouldn't be too hard. (Toss out the super high end sites like 1st dibs so they don't skew your results. 1st dibs prices don't reflect the regular market very accurately.) | |||||

| Thanks for your reply objectworship! I found a couple exactly like mine online, one on 1st dibs and one on Chairish and believe the one on 1st dibs had the signature in tact. Which doesn't mean this couldn't be a more exact copy of that, or that the signature on the others weren't forged (I assume that happens). Also, there was another branch with three disks that previously filled in more space upper left, so it is a bit more sparse than it started. I know that I can't authenticate it but researching, comparing, asking for advice and second opinions always ... | |||||

I also opened the wool (original?) fabric on the sprung cushions on the Vodder lounge chair sprung cushions I have and it was filled with crumbling foam... Can anyone confirm that the appropriate path to restore as close as possible is as above ..."foam wrapped around a spring assembly?"Is that true for both of these models? So... it is the sprung frame and then that is wrapp ...

| Hello, I would say vinyl - I never noticed the shock mounts before but it does look odd. Here are some additional photos- hopefully they are a bit clearer. I did a search and found a few chairs similar on a site Metro Modern- but the shock mounts are different. I have also enclosed a photo of another chair that I would love to have more info. I was told it was a chair from a library in France. I also saw a pair on 1st dibs but little info. Any ideas? Thank you for all your help, Pam | |||||

| My daughter and I went to a big salvage/resale shop in the city today. She parked the car and said she had to make a work call first but then would catch up with me. I called dibs on any Danish furniture "Not that there will be any because that place has pickers and dealers crawling through it all day long" (it's huge). She reminded me of four Moller church chairs she picked up there for about $55/ea recently. I said it was just luck. I wouldn't see anything good. Ten minutes later I was back at the car peering in at her and saying, "I TAKE IT BACK!" Be ... | |||||

Many times dealers will accept lower offers." This has been my experience too. Which makes me wonder how 1st dibs' "cut" works? It can't work like eBay or an auction house where the fee is a percentage of the selling price because 1st dibs doesn't seem to require exclusivity. A dealer's items will be listed on 1st dibs, the dealer's own website and in the showroom. I can't imagine many tra ...

| hi guys, yes, I'm still here. I don't believe it's a matching set, but the chairs do work really well with the shape and height of the table. I've now seen two other matching France and Son tables like mine for sale or sold online, and even the dealers on 1st dibs couldn't identify the designer of the table. All I know is that's it's very high quality and marked France and Son. Mike | |||||

| Ebay does suck! Drexel is a fine furniture maker and evidentally saying I don't understand is a bit rude. I did search SOLD listings and I have looked around, but I don't think that makes me qualified to say something is valuable or not. I looked around before posting here and thought there were some knowledgeable people who knew about what was worth collecting and was worth ditching - that is basically my dilema. Would I be missing out if I sell my family heirloom for a style I like more? It's a little commical that there is a post like this: http://www.de ... | |||||

| " On 1stdibs.com it cost $3,200 whereas Barnebys has a low estimation of $200 on the same chair." There is a big difference here that renders direct comparison useless. dibs is a retail site. Barneby's is an auction site. Auction houses very often will give a low estimate on the value of a piece just to generate excitement. If something generally sells for around $2,000 and the auction house says they expect it to sell for $200-400, a lot of people will lock onto it thinking they're going to get it for way less than market value! Some people are likely ... | |||||
