| Same thing Cold water with as little agitation as possible. The machine is just more efficient at the rinsing part than you can do by hand with things this big. Spinning speeds up the process a lot. (I know this from long experience laundering big things that are supposed to be hand wash only.) | |||||

| Oh and one funny thing I wanted to share with you guys. My son: "Daddy, may I have the duck to put it in my room?" Me: "No" My son: "It's unfair. You have all the designers' stuff and I have nothing." Me: "Well, what would you want?" My son: "I would like the duck and an egg chair for my room". My son is 7... | |||||

| The funny thing is the handles on the doors, they are definitly Mogensen style. And I think I've seen the drawer handles on Mogensen furniture too. But then there is the legframe. | |||||

| There is one other thing to say here. The dealer who sold this set to Mr. Pritchard is Mike Mason owner of Queen's West Antiques in Toronto. Here is a photo of the same set prior to the sale to Mr. Pritchard, and for reference a screenshot of another random dining set in the same location in the store (note the cracks in the floor). | |||||
| Is this the real thing? | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | jef180 (FIN) | General discussion | |
| Is this the real thing? I found a Eames lounge chair seat without the base. It looks like a fake but I would like the forum's expertise. And by the way, how much is the base for the chair when bought separately? | |||||

| One more thing If you think we should configure the shelves differently, I'd love to hear suggestions on that as well. Obviously we haven't loaded it up yet - just got it mounted this weekend. We'll probably put a vintage clock somewhere on there. And we're trying to find a chair that is fairly comfortable to sit in of course - something that we pull out for guests (if our oversized, overstuffed sectional can't handle anymore!) - I like stools but might not be great for that purpose. | |||||
| I wouldn't do a thing to that | 2 Relevance | 8 years ago | Spanky | General discussion | |
| I wouldn't do a thing to that Picasso-like folding screen! You never know, it may have sustained that damage in a historic gun battle. Or even a non-historic gun battle. Or maybe it just got knocked over one too many times. Whatever---it's part of the piece's past and I don't think it detracts one bit. | |||||
| The only thing suspicious | 2 Relevance | 9 years ago | tktoo | Identification | |
| The only thing suspicious about them is that they look maybe a little too fresh to me. Like the zinc-plated bases were media-blasted and the fiberglass has been pressure-washed and then treated with Penetrol. Really, if these are a vintage set, they should show some age. I don't see anything that leads me to believe that they're not authentic vintage, but, if so, they've been subjected to heavy-handed treatment. Too bad, IMO. | |||||
| Thing is... | 2 Relevance | 14 years ago | fastfwd | General discussion | |
| Thing is... ... there isn't "a" repro. There are probably dozens, each with its own non-interchangeable parts. It may be impossible to find the right replacement parts unless you can figure out who manufactured your lamp. And even then it'll probably be difficult, since part of what you're not paying for when you buy a repro is the production, stocking, and availability of spares. Good luck, though. | |||||

| the thing is the logo is exactly his first random scribble as he simply moved his pen up and down to demonstrate a colour and i just like the fact that even though i love design the logo has come from no design or thought whatsoever we have developed it in so far as we have put it on to canvass and are actually selling it as wall art and also cropping it at times on tickets etc | |||||

| Yowza, what an awesome thing! Life in a terrycloth bathrobe... DIA and Creative Elegance come to mind it looks like not inexpensive 90s contemporary fine furniture, remote control, sheesh I would guess that whatever company made it was out of business by the great recession | |||||
| Thanks Spanky! One thing | 2 Relevance | 10 years ago | DrPoulet | General discussion | |
| Thanks Spanky! One thing leading to another (one nordic language leading to another actually) I found out that it is most likely norwegian and often attributed to Torbjorn Afdal for Bruskbo. Still have to find some evidence for the attribution though. In norwegian = "aviskurv" or "magasinkurv". | |||||
| one thing that really worries me.. | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | brnki (SVK) | General discussion | |
| one thing that really worries me.. Although I'm a big fan of urban-interactions and I always want to bring design nearer to real people, I read today about competition Index-award that was exhibited in Brno / Czech republic / in the old town... and it was damaged by some vandals.. even one piece was stolen. Hm.. makes me feel really sad. | |||||
