| Hey all - I am wondering if anyone recognizes these dining chairs. They seem to be of some quality, but none of my searching has been productive. Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks. | ... The way the leaves join is a quirk of construction and you can expect to see that quirk used on many tables produced by the company regardless of designer. I call this a workshop signature. And there may be multiple companies that did similar or the same. But what I know is that it is not a common detail on danish tables in general and it happens to be a useful signature because often it gets photographed. So it can be useful to take a broad survey of danish tables in general to make a list of potential makers and then you can focus your time into deeper re ... | |||||

| @danish-nut. did more searching into Soro Stolefabrik tables. Attaching image of bolt detail from a Model 62, designed by Henry Kjaernulf ( according to DFI; info from Mobilia 1960). This model table also has different versions of tongue & groove detail. Attachment: soro-dining-table-kjaernulf-bolt-detail.jpeg | |||||

| @danish-nut. Thank you for the extra images. Standard butt hinges . If I stumble upon a table with the same flange piece I will be sure to post it here. At this point in time you will just have to spend a while on the web clicking into dining tables and hopefully images of the leg joints are included in pics !! | |||||

| There are many examples of dining tables from Brande Møbelfabrik with a similar construction as the referenced table with tongue and groove in relation to additional plates. I have so far not been able to find other known and lesser known manufacturers of dining tables that have this solution. The attached photo shows an example from a similar round dining table from Brande Møbelfabrik. Just an input that we might be able to search further from 🙂 Attachment: Brande-Møbelfabrik-.jpeg | |||||

| Lexi, Thanks for your image of the Soro model 62 table leg that shows the same flanged disc as on my table. Do you know if this was type of fastener was used exclusively by Soro? As requested I have attached additional images showing the hinge on the extension pieces plus a photo of the tongue joints on one of the extensions, which shows a total of 6 on each versus 2 on the table top itself. Eager to learn if this additional input sheds any further light on the table's maker. Again appreciate the effort you Lexi, Leif, Curious1, Kyle and others have put in ... | |||||

| Leif, Lexi, Kyle, Curious1 and other contributors, having spent many hours now Googling Danish dining tables I noticed that something like 25-30% of Soro tables have what I take to be production numbers (as well as maker discs/labels) on the top of one of the extension rails. On re-examining the top extension rail of my table I have found production numbers also, although no makers label/disc. From Lexi's previously posted photo of the top of a leg from a Soro model 62 table we can just make out a production number impressed in the end grain at the top of t ... | |||||

| Leif, I believe the Soro model 62 table by Henry Kjaernulf contains the right shop signatures. i. the use of T&G table top and extension jointing (see image below) ii. use of flange disc and bolt leg fastener (see Lexi's previous photo) iii) impressed production numbering to extension rail (see photo below....I have several other examples also) iv) impressed production numbering to end grain at top of table leg (see Lexi's previous photo) Collectively I would hope you could agree this constitutes a workshop signature for Soro (at least at a certain point ... | |||||

| @herringbone Well, their old ads listed Hillerød along with the other showroom locations. One of the ads includes: "Executed by Denmark's incomparable craftsmen under the direction of Mr. C.W.E. France of Hillerød, Denmark". I don't know if they were listing their partner France's office for marketing purposes or if they actually had their own office there. Attachment: StuAd.jpg | |||||

| @user_263 Got a few hits on an image search. John Stewart. One poster shows a dining set with the John Stewart badge but not sure if this on the table or the chairs. Anyways, somewhere for you to start your search. | |||||
