| Teak dining table - how to make it smooth | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | Teak Table | General discussion | |
| ... reading stuff about polyurethane, liquid glass, stain, etc and I'm not sure what route to go. I'm pretty sure I don't want to stain it since I like the current color, but given that this is a dining table and I have small kids, do I need to do the liquid glass thing? What about beeswax vs poly?Also, what's the best way to fill in those gaps? I've read online about sawdust from sanding mixed with clear glue or resin...but there are so many options out there that I'm getting confused.Thoughts? | |||||
| Niels Moller dining Chairs in Mahogany | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | Dagmar | General discussion | |
| Hi all, Has anyone ever seen Niels moller 78 dining chairs made in Mahogany? I have been offered a set by someone for sale but have only seen pictures so far. They say they are mahogany and the wood looks very dark in the pictures. I have only ever seen the 78's in Rosewood or Teak so assume they are rosewood but they are sure they are mahogany. | |||||

Size is 16" w x 19" d x 33 3/4" h Thanks in advance for your help! | |||||

| Design rules for buffet and dining table | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | rogerdunn | General discussion | |
| Hello there... Just wondering if there are design rules i should abide to when buying my first buffet/credenza. My dining table is 72 inches long. Should the buffet be shorter or longer than the table. I was planning on placing the buffet on the long side of the table.i noticed most of the buffets are sold in 60 inches long. Is there a rule that the table and buffet should match in lenght? thanks Roger | |||||

| ... Got all my chairs from Herman Miller, which took 8 weeks + another 6 weeks cause two of the chairs i ordered had a clanking noise which they replaced and took extra time.So from our last discussion, we talked about either walnut legs on the chairs or the stainless steel one. And i was so glad that i went with the walnut one. It just made the space warmer and matched with all the other elements i had in the house. As a result, i also went with a warmer tone sputnik chandelier in lieu of a raw steel finish.Took all your advises in mind ... | |||||
| Any info about this Lane dining set? | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | swer37 | Identification | |
| I may soon become the owner of this beautiful Lane dining set, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. I have seen this set once or twice before, and I've always liked it. It seems to be somewhat rarer than most Lane styles. Does anyone know the designer? when it was made? the name of the line? any other info about it? Thanks! | |||||

| Help identify dining table set? | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | chairaholic | Identification | |
| I purchased this dining table set last spring, and despite tons of online research, I have not been able to identify it. Does anyone know what it is?I think the table is teak, and it's wider in the center than at the ends. It has a leaf that cranks up from underneath. The most interesting thing about it, which you can see in the pics, is the way the legs come up and interface with the table top. Chairs are have paperboard tags marked: 510 ARM CHAIR Cutting No. 62 AssemblyTable is stamped underneath: TABLE 517 No. 305 Cu ... | |||||

| Laminate Dining Tables | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | MLF | General discussion | |
| I'm looking for recommendations on laminate dining tables. The Knoll Stromborg and Magis Table One seem like the best fit in our price range, though we also like the look of the Nelson X- and Swag Leg tables. We don't have the opportunity to see any of these in person, though I am familiar with the Swag Leg desk, so have a general understanding of fit and finish. Does anyone have any experience with these or recommendations for other tables to check out? | |||||

| Model 6501 Fritz Hansen Dining Chairs - Who Was the Designer, Please? | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | cada | General discussion | |
| ... I was familiar with pretty much all the chairs that FH had produced in the 50s & 60s?. having done an afternoon and evening of research, it turns out I don?t. Most frustratingly, despite having the model number (I supposed that 6501 is the model number?) I still can?t discover who designed these, or when. I?m hoping that someone on here will have a well read catalogue or well fed brain that they can draw from to let me know who designed these please. Is there a clue to the age from the style of label used? Sincere thanks in advance, to be followed by yet mo ... | |||||
| Danish Dining Table | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| So I acquired this table with a set of 4 Peter Hvidt dining chairs, a France and Sons Hvidt Lounge and a Ekornes Amigo chair. The table has not one single mark other than a hand written 7 on the bottom. I know it can be hard to pin these down to a designer..but since it was found with such quality items I am hopeful this time. Here are a few pics and the link will take you to more pics. I also was wondering if there was any advice that someone may have on the top. I have chemically striped the main top and leafs. The main top was thrashed...serious food and ... | |||||
