Panton Verner

The Danish designer Verner Panton (1926 – 1998) is considered one of the most influential designers of the twentieth century. This striking figure of Scandinavian design creates during his career objects with innovative and futuristic design such as the famous “Panton Chair” which still inspires today the most avant-garde designers. His style, typical of the 60 ‘and 70’, remains imbued with great modernity. His iconic and timeless creations have survived the decades without taking a ride!

Architect and designer, Panton studied at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen and worked as an associate with Arne Jacobsen. He opened his own design office in 1955 and created the first single-form injection-molded plastic chair in 1960, edited by Herman Miller in 1967. He created truly innovative futuristic furniture and designs, using new technologies and materials.
