Dara International glass vase handblown with brass band, 1980`s ca, Italian. This vase has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. It is ready to use. The form of this vintage large vase from the bottom is a wide opening vase pinched at the centre continuing to an inverted cone. There is a thick satin brass band at the centre emphasising this shape. The relatively narrow neck of the vase enhances the form and together with its generous size, is ideal for holding a flower arrangement together. Handblown, the blue glass is decorated with bullicante or small air bubbles created during the process. This decorative feature evenly spaced, and in such a large piece, are indicators of good quality craftsmanship. Looking at the bottom of the vase there is a pontil mark present. This is the result from when the glass was separated from the metal rod used to blow the glass. The presence of a pontil indicates that this glass was blown freehand. This vintage vase is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and only minor patina and superficial wear on the brass surface and at the bottom, in line with age & wear. Additional dimensions: Diameter at top is: 9 cm. Diameter at the bottom is:10 cm The brass band Height is: 4 cm Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing.
