Chrome & brass floor lamp with halogen uplighter by Deknudt Lighting 1970`s ca, Belgian. This vintage floor lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the antique patina. It is rewired, earthed & ready to use. This lamp is compatible with other countries although it may be necessary to purchase a different light bulb suitable to local electricity.   This `Postmodern` floor lamp has a minimal Neoclassical form, the simplicity emphasising the different shapes. The form is enhanced with the combination of luxury materials: stainless steel with a champagne mirror finish & solid brass detailing. Standing like a skyscraper this lamp is well suited for a range of decors such as Art Deco, 1970`s Glamour, Minimalist, Industrial or Contemporary.   The frame has three main components: the base, column & shade.   The rectangular plinth base top surface is in stainless steel champagne mirror finish highlighted by solid brass detailing around the 4 edges and at the centre, while the sides are in satin black lacquer. From the centre of the base rises a slender metal column in a champagne mirror finish.   The column is of a square section following the materials on the base, finishing at the top with a solid brass sculptural decorative detail that works as a mechanism to move the head at different angles. Inside the column runs the wiring.   The rectangular metal shade at the top follows the same design as the plinth base and is in a champagne mirror finish, however the angles are exaggerated with great dramatic effect. This shade tilts 180 degrees forwards & backwards. The mechanism for tilting is of solid brass, functions smoothly and is very decorative. On the upper side there is a reflective metal surface and the light bulb is protected by a removable glass cover.   This lamp takes a standard tubular Halogen light bulb up to 500 Watts. At present fitted & photographed with a new Linear Energy Saving Halogen tubular clear of 230 Watts by Crompton Lamps. This type of bulb is easily available in most electrical shops & over the internet.   There is a working dimmer switch on the cord. .   This floor lamp is sound and in very good condition. The surfaces have some patina, such as minor tiny marks & rubbing to the finish in line with age & wear.
