Often this model of cantilevered lounge chair is attributed as a work of Dutch designer W.H.Gibsen, who actually designed a similar armchair but with differently shaped armrests. The author of this armchair is Walter Schneider, with the help from Paul Hahn. This piece is in perfect vintage condition. The wooden armrests have been refurbished by our experienced restorer who specialises in Modernist furniture and the steel frames have been cleaned and polished. There is some minimal wear acquired over the years. The original fabric was damaged beyond repair so we have reupholstered the armchair in a textured fabric made of a combination of wool and linen by Kirkby Design. We decided to use this material because of its timeless and classic aesthetic as well as the way it offsets the chrome and dark wood armrests.
