Flora Lamp
Flora lamp is a balanced composition of geometric cantilevered shapes, composed of brass, glass, and our unique Flora Perma material. A glass globe offsets the body, offering a soft dimmable light source. Flora Perma: The body of the lamp is carefully machined to reveal the intricate and complex beauty of the cross sections of flowers, curve of petals, structure of leaves. Contrasted with white resin they appear as veins or fossils creating an almost stone like quality.• Dimensions: 42 (w) x 18 (d) x 60 (h) cm / 16,5” (w) x 7” (d) x 23.6”• Materials: Flower infused resin, glass, brass• Unique piece. Designed in 2016 Marcin Rusak (born in 1987, Warsaw, Poland) is an artist and multidisciplinary designer interested in ideas of value, ephemerality and aesthetics. Specializing in storytelling, process and material investigation his work often incorporates research, object and installation as well as visual creations to explore overlooked details of our lives which recreated and reimagined are shown again in a different light.As the son and grandson of flower growers he has long been fascinated by these natural sources of inspiration and decoration. Engaging them in his creative process began by reusing waste to investigate new decorative elements within every day objects and led to a rich body of work ranging from research and storytelling to cultural criticism around consumption and future scenarios.Recently Marcin has been awarded the Perrier-Jouët Arts salon Prize for emerging artists. he has exhibited at group shows including “What is Luxury?” at the V&A, Design Miami/Basel, London, Milan, and Dubai design fairs.
