Exhibition “Not just a bowl of cherries”

Gallery Sofie Lachaert celebrates its 25th anniversary with an exhibition entitled “Not just a bowl of cherries”, an allusion to the expression “life is just a bowl of cherries”. No less than 40 artists were inspired by this expression.The bowl is naturally one of the first objects invented by man. This is the materialization as an object of two joined hands, its symbolism is strong and universal. We are witnessing here a re-intepretation of the archetypal object of everyday life which is used to prepare, provide, maintain and preserve food.
