Orti Paco

PACO ORTÍ architect from the School of Architecture of Valencia. His student record was one of the ten best of his year, despite suffering from cancer in his second year, and his Final Project was awarded the highest qualification with a distinction. In 2009 he began doctoral studies in the Department of Architectural Design at the ETSAV, having carried out research work on “Mies van der Rohe and courtyard houses”. In September 2012 he got the DEA, advanced studies diploma.
He has been the winner of various prizes and mentions in different architectural competitions, including the Final Project Bancaja Prize in 2010. He has also participated in numerous publications and exhibitions of architecture such as ETSAV YOUNG ARCHITECTS at Professional Association of Architects of Valencia in 2012.
From may 2013 he engages in artistic production. And now, his studio and atelier are located in a small Mediterranean village, next to the Sagunto´s city.
From June 2013 his artefact “SEEDlight” is being part of Boisbuchet Collection, whose owner is Alexander von Vegesack, founder of the VITRA DESIGN MUSEUM and collaborator of CENTRE POMPIDOU.
In July 2013 he was named FINALIST – ArtFAD 2014 AWARDS, degree in the professional category (1/2), for two of his works: “21st Century´s Spanish Traditional Jug” and “Sushi Plates”.
He has participated in several exhibitions, among which include a solo exhibition at the Ceramic School of Madrid and a joint exhibition at the National Museum of Decorative Arts in Madrid called “Art Design: Dialogue Between Two Times” (curators: Rossana Orlandi and Product Design Madrid).
Recently he was named FINALIST – ArtFAD 2014 AWARDS, degree in the professional category (1/2), for his work “Exoskeletons & Strings”.
