Since graduating with a degree in design in 1991, from The National College of Art and Design, Niamh Barry has carved out a career as one of Irelands leading designers. Initially exhibiting one-off pieces of both furniture and lighting in various galleries throughout Dublin, Niamh has mainly specialised in bespoke lighting for the top end commercial market and carefully selected private commissions over the last ten years. With a reputation for unique designs and the finest quality in materials and craftsmanship, she has won commissions for many of Irelands finest commercial interiors, including most recently a substantial contract for the lighting and furniture, to be seen in many of the public areas, in the newly refurbished Shelbourne Hotel, a project which she says was an absolute joy and privilege to work on. Other prominent interiors where her work can be seen is in The Ice Bar – Four Seasons Hotel, in The Cellar Bar – Merrion Hotel, The Clarion Hotel , The National Yacht Club, the list could go on… Currently working on many projects throughout Ireland, London, Germany, Portugal, and as far as Australia, recognition for her exceptional designs is growing internationally, the future looks bright!
