I purchased an Eames Rocker that is upholstered in Naugahyde, which is overall in really good condition. However, in two locations the edging has pulled away from the back of the shell. I can pull it back around the edges and clamp it, but what adhesive should I used under the Naugahyde to get it to stay in place? Or is that not the best way to solve the problem?

Thanks for any help!

Is there residue of old adhesive where the edge molding has pulled away? If so, the tricky part will be removing it to prepare mating surfaces for new adhesive or glue. I'm guessing the edge molding is made from a PVC compound and will need to be bonded to the fiberglass surface. There are numerous adhesives specially formulated for permanently joining the two. West System G-Flex and ITW Plexus pop to mind and 3M offers a few, too. Best to research mfr's specs to be sure. Some of the urethane-based adhesives may work also but, whatever you end up using, proper preparation is at least as important as choice of adhesive for success.

I just push mine back with my hands, and it’s fine. Do you mean the edge has separated from the body of the cover, or is the cover is just shrinking in?? Post pics.  I’d expect the only thing you’d get with adhesives is a mess.
