The wood looks great to me. Vintage furniture is supposed to have marks of age and wear.
I would recommend not to stain or sand.
I previously had four of those 78 side chairs and 2 of the matching 62 armchairs. Nice designs. Post a photo of the Moller mark and I'm sure someone here can give you a date range for production.
