Hi, I am looking for better pictures to understand how the feet for these legs are built, including to confirm/not confirm that the little feet were made of brass instead of aluminum (legs are aluminum). I am not sure about the brass, but in this picture they look of a different color that the legs, while in other pictures they did not have this color but quality makes it difficult to say. I do not have the table or the legs, unfortunately.
Many thanks
The feet are made of plastic. And the table is designed by Poul Cadovius and not Finn Juhl.
@mvc that's very interesting. so this was copied from the earlier Juhl smaller version after France&Son was acquired by Cado, I presume. This earlier Juhl version looks like had aluminum feet (?).
@mvc the longer table with the aluminum coins on top, seems indeed to be Cavodius. But
the smaller one should be Juhl, at least according to a France&Son catalogue I saw once.
@cdsilva do you have a France&Son catalogue and can you confirm the smaller table is indeed Juhl ? is my theory that it got copied later correct/wrong ?
@mvc it seems all right, thank you for proving the link. You are right that the little feet are made of plastic, good eye.
It is clear that most of them are wrongly attributed on the web, including on this platform that is selling the one depicted first on this thread...
We've had the table several times so it's not my "good eye". (Although I think I have a good eye...)
By the way, it's not this platform's fault, DA cannot check every uploaded item, it has to rely on the retailers to provide correct information.
That design line was apparently called the Revolt series. In a CADO catalog printed in Apr 1970, it notes that series as new and by France and Søn. I believe CADO bought F&S in 1967, and kept the F&S brand name alive for a few more years. I had previously assumed that the brand was kept alive for existing lines, but this catalog indicates that some new designs under CADO after 1967 were still branded F&S.
This listing shows both late F&S medallion and the plastic feet.
