Hi,

I've just picked this up, not sure if it's genuine, so if anyone has a definitive way to tell then I'd be grateful for any advice.

In addition to the wear on the leather, the left side of the chair is loose. it has seperated at the top where it joins the back of the chair and the whole side of the chair can be moved up and down about a centimeter. In the base of the chair is a bolt which has fallen out which is about 7cm long, I haven't removed the base covering to investigate yet as it's in good condition with no missing staples and I'd like to know what I'm getting into before diving in.

So does anyone know how these chairs were constructed? specifically I'm wantinmg to know how the sides were joined to the back of the chair.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

B

Got as well a wing chair from Borge Mogensen recently. My chair has this sticker underneath. The paper stickers easily fell off over time. But maybe you still see the spot where the sticker was in the past. It is approx 6x4 cm, I could give you exact measures later.

@mynicknamestaken, have you tried inquiring of Fredericia customer service?

I am fairly sure that's not a Mogensen chair. Looks like a Thams Kvalitet (presumably a Georg Thams company?) wing chair.

I guess it can be restored in different ways like many manufacturers use some kind of super glue to paste it, sometimes more sturdy ways like stitching are there. Better if you hire some handyman carpenters for this job.
