Hello All!
Hoping you can help...
I recently purchased this chair. But can't currently use it in it's "wobbly" mode. I have contacted Abacus (swivel chair parts), and his only suggestion, was to buy a new mechanism & my base probably won't go w/ it... so to buy a new base too. Cha-Ching!! My husband is handy & has access to machinery, so we are hoping to avoid having to spend for a new mechanism & base.

I'm attaching pictures for reference:
1. It appears that the inside of the base tube should have some kind of interior sleeve/tube to accept the chair shaft so it's not metal on metal. Is this right? If so, is it something I can purchase from http://www.mcmaster.com/#sleeve-bearings/=yd69sf ?

2. The bottom of the chair mechanism shaft has a threaded hole at the bottom. I'm assuming this is to join the base & the chair together so they don't come apart when moving/lifting up. Assuming that the interior threading of the shaft is in tact - does one know the size machine screw or flange size for that? My local Home Improvement didn't have the size... as I purchased about 6 packets & non fit correctly.

3. Once I find these "missing" parts... will the compression when sitting stop the wobbling from size to side?
As I tried to dictate in the close-up pictures. The mechanism on the chair where it meets the shaft is tailored inward, as is the top of the chair base tube, where it meets the top of the mechanism when joined together. I really hope this makes sense.

4. LASTLY, Are you able to tell me the particular designer of this Plycraft model or give me a model #. Just curious... really hoping I can fix this chair on my own.

Thanks in advance for any insight or links of where to go... 🙂
