So after breakfast today, I popped into my favorite resale store and bought a book to read on the jetplane. It had this postcard from 1962 tucked inside. Anyone know this dude? or this motel? or Steb?
Hi,
Aunt Mark

My favorite sentence's that I've read today:
"I wore a mini-dress covered by a floor length, mink trimmed coat with a hood that looked like something out of Dr Zhivago. My boots were white, and I carried a bouquet of snowdrops."
hello,
Aunt Mark
ps Spanky, I love the haiku recipe. I do!

Odd name for a poor flower. Baby's have foul breath. I don't care for babies. I like flowers.
I do,
Aunt Mark

Haven't seen the setting sun here in at least five weeks -- one of the grayest summers in recent memory.
Until tonight.

Yes it truly was an awesome sky at sunset last night. Even looking east, the color and the sky action was incredible.
That photo ranks right up there with your best from the archives SDR.
I'm sorry to hear that it has been such a foggy summer in the city… Even though I am only 20 miles north of you, I had no idea. As you already know, it gets pretty toasty north of the bridge, as long as you get past Sausalito and Mill Valley… But for all I know, you love the fog, as many love the mild temperatures that come along with the fog in summers by the bay.
Soon, "Indian Summer" will kick in and give you the best two months of beautiful weather, just like always. (Then there will be a sky photo every night, I'm sure!)

No doubt. We had a mostly sunny morning, right from the start. There were big bands of high clouds, though, that would have made great sunsets . . . if you know what I mean.

Looking sharp, Auntie!
Today's laughs:
Twitter Users Hilariously Troll Donald Trump Over Mexico Visit

Also, this article, which I hope President Nieto reads, though he probably is already well aware of all of the points covered. But you know---just in case. We can't take any chances here.

Crash.
Burn.
Repeat.
Cant wait until we can say goodbye to this wonderful chapter in American political history. How embarrassing for us as a country to even be associated with the IDEA that he got to the main stage.
Thank God that at least there were plenty of laughs involved along the way. I mean, without the hilarity it might have taken even longer for the stench to subside.
I hope this little episode scared everyone sufficiently. It reminds me of the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" where the angel gave Jimmy Stewart a glimpse of what the the town would have become if he was never born. (Except in reverse.)
Perhaps it was just in time that we saw what we still are as a country, and worse- could become- if we get too complacent.
I feel kinda dirty after such a long wallow in all that is The Donald.
THE END

Hi everybody and Jesus, too.
Popped into my fav resale store after breakfast for a book to take to the beach. Hi. The book had a postcard inside (again). Anyone know this princess?
Hi,

I'm reading Oliver Sacks, finally. That makes me a superior person, you know. (Not the finally part, but the Oliver Sacks part.) Also, it's entertaining and informative. So there.
An episode of today's PBS NewsHour reminds me that -- it's no wonder that our pets like us. Pets -- dogs, for instance -- are the default emotion sinks of our society. Those of us who largely distain emotional human contact may pour their excess love into somebody's pet . . . for free, unless they take on the responsibility of "owning" a pet themselves . . .

Yes.
I would take the situation one step ahead, and raise chickens. Some parts are edible. They make great pets, too!
I would,
Aunt Mark
