It IS a miracle that power has not corrupted absolutely everybody SDR. Indeed, the whole world seems to have become a giant and corrupt Bohemian Club sometimes.
And the serial self-editor has done it again! I am sorry that I missed your edited post above, Mark. (The one that inspired Spanky to compliment you on your diplomacy)
You do have amazing restraint. I like how sometimes you even edit stuff that was right on the money. I would like to see a complete collection of all of your DA self-edits.
Yes -- that I would like to see. I sometimes edit a post at Wright Chat a half-dozen times after posting, to correct errors or improve the writing in some way. Sometimes I post before verifying my facts or conclusions, and have to edit for those. But if I want the edits to be undetected I have to complete them before someone else responds to the thread, after which a small line of type identifies the number of edits and the time(s) they were made.
More frustrating still is the inability to edit, which we suffered here until a while ago and which sites like YouTube still impose.
Mark's just shy; we don't really want to invade the privacy of his remarkable mind, do we ? If he chooses to think better of a post -- and wants to tell us that much -- he's free to do so. Me, I'd keep my edits to myself ! Mark is apparently scrupulous to a fault . . .
Yes, of course we all have our different ways to arrive at what we deem an appropriate post.
I edit too. But usually only for a few minutes after the original posting. It's still "work in progress" at that point, and I assume hardly anyone has seen it yet. Once another post follows, its "down the river" for better or worse.
It's one thing when its all in fun, but quite another in the context of a serious conversation.
As we found out recently on another thread, changing a post WAY after the fact is just wrong. It exploits the usual assumptions one makes about a conversation-- to the point of dishonesty. To me, manipulation for those reasons is offensive and shows a lack of integrity. But I guess we all have our different standards as to what is fair, or necessary. Familiarity with a person over time seems to be the ultimate bottom line.
Even though it's still dark here, today is the first day of daylight savings. It's later than you think!
(One hour later)

I missed it too! My comment was in reference to stuff he said on some other threads recently, in discussions that I had to step back from because I couldn't think what to say that wouldn't have exacerbated things. Is it too late to start watching Hollywood Squares??
Good morning Howard Moon and Mark!
EDIT: And good morning spanky! Funny I thought it was about the one I missed…
I had to curtail my own responses on that previous thread also. Didn't do a very good job of it though. (Although I never mind exacerbating things, it was still difficult to choose words.)
EH, totally with you on major editing of a response way after posting---not cool. The only things I ever edit are typos and maybe sentence structure that sounded OK in my head but isn't so clear onscreen, especially after a few minutes, or even hours sometimes, have passed. I think when I'm writing it I use inflections that would make the meaning clear if spoken, but of course that gets lost.
I realized years ago that bestowing persona non grata status is better for my health than engaging. But I'm glad you guys are willing to jump in.
Well,
I had my Design Addict Holiday Party 2014 Invitation rescinded due to over
editing and spitting. I was edited off of the guest list for 2 years. Slow learner am I. I no longer spit.
Love,
Your Aunt Mark
ps hi EH. The fog bell is a Perky (or something like that), off of a Trumpy yacht (not that Trumpy). Available in 3 sizes, mine is the largest at 12". Impressive in that it will hold its ring-tone for 14 seconds. It gets a daily good smack at 4pm, and then the "shop" is open. It tastes like metal.
(edited....) the fog bell was manufactured by Perko. Hi.
(and re-edited!) bell id was intended for Howard Moon, not my friend EamesHead. Yes.
