I've got a combination of 9 kids and grandkids arriving in the next three days so I fear I will probably not have any free time to browse any haikus/photos here in the next short while.
Nevertheless, I just want to wish you all Joyeux Noël et Bonne Année, which means Merry Christmas and Happy New Year when it is at home with it's feet up.
If I can, I will snap a pic of one or more of them climbing on my awesome furniture in a completely inappropriate way. Happy Hunting/Shopping/Drinking my friends,
Ciao, ciao, hugs and kisses, Riki

from a long history of
terrible haikus
I am talking about my own, not anybody else's. The days are getting lighter here now, thank God. I know its only a second or two each day at the moment, but it's the thought that counts. Soon it will be January, and the buckeye trees will be starting to get new growth that will signal spring. (They are the first trees to break out each year- they explode every mid-February) Longer brighter warmer days are ahead!
Mark, is that a Santa you found on etsy? I bet it is. Bahahahahahahahah!

I have just returned from A John Waters Christmas and it was pretty much the most glorious, perverted, hilarious, depraved 2 hours of my life! He didn't let up for even a sip of water the whole time, either. And yet he comes off as such a sweet, nice guy! I don't get how he does that but it's just magnificent.
His suit was pretty spectacular, too.

You'll love this: In my mailbox this afternoon appeared a thick magazine from my alma mutter, RISD. First article: John Waters receives his first-ever honorary degree, and gives the commencement address to the class of 2015. Random quotes:
"Think about it. *I* didn't change; society did. Who would have ever thought that a top college like RISD would invite a filth elder like me to set an example for its students?"
"Refuse to isolate yourself. Separatism is for losers. Gay is not enough anymore."
"Not being around assholes should be the goal of every graduate here today"
"The poor of spirit . . . can have [big bank balances but are] stupid by choice -- uncurious, judgmental, isolated and unavailable to change."
You may now call him "Dr. Waters" !

He talked last night about getting that honorary degree and speaking at the commencement! He was very amused to be invited and even more amused to get the degree.
And yeah, those quotes are exactly who he is. Also, he comes across as genuinely loving everyone---and as having thoroughly enjoyed his own life and career. And he loves Baltimore! Not many people do these days. I saw the same show on tv a few years ago but it didn't have any of the electricity of a live show in a small club full of both younger and lifelong fans, all of whom got the many local references. So wonderful.
Whatta guy!

Hi!
I hope it’s not too late to join the party…
Thinking on the time when the sky was the subject, I’ll add this one.
So here I add a sky with someting else.
The building is the Ministerio de Obras Publicas with an Evita mural on it.
It was made by Alejandro Marmo y Daniel Santoro.
I could add as many controversial issues as you want.
But I just left the sky, the building and the mural.
We’ve just changed president and so on, meaning the end of one era.
This is to me an emblematic work from that recently past era.
The sky is matching the building, as is “peronist” sky, in a peronist day.
(all sunny days are peronist days)
All that could be called “subtlety” peronist...
