Hi.

We have spent 10 days in Denmark in the summer of 2016 (August). My kids were 6 and 4 at the time. We mostly stayed in Copenhagen but spent a few days in Aarhus, went to visit Legoland in Billund and had a day trip to Roskilde.

A few points:

- during our trip, it rained almost everyday. Not the entire day of course but still, there was a lot of rain. I don

Ringkobing is a pretty little town right at the beach, they serve a good pizza there - and in Ringkobing sits the headquarter of House of Finn Juhl. You can visit a large and very impressive showroom, and maybe you can also visit the the production facilities. It's fun.

If you really go to Aarhus, which I strongly reccomend but which is not really in the south of Danmark, you shold stop by at Brdr. Pedersens. Its a very small company right outside of Aarhus, the do most of the upholstery work for House of Finn Juhl and they produce their own stuff, mostly Ib Kofod Larsen but also Vilhelm Lauritzen, Nanna Ditzel and Tove and Edvard Kindt Larsen. Very nice people make very nice things in a very beautiful surrounding.

Thanks Poulet, Herringbone & Spanky for your personal thoughts and experiences!

Kinda makes me rethink our intentions and ambitions, so certainly helpful.

We'll certainly look into Aarhus and Odense, maybe look for a place to stay in between or

in the area (east jutland).

I know finding furniture at a good price isn't very doable but would textiles be easier?

Thinking of rugs, spreads and hangings. I love these handcrafted items, which are

a lot easier to drive around (as I'm not professionally on the road, but with my family).

I got some nice things for cheap at the flea markets but that was more than ten years ago. Nothing super high end but not junk either---still have the Dybdahl platter I got for a few dollars at the flea market in Frederiksberg. If you enjoy the hunt, it's worth it.

One thing to keep in mind when shopping for new things---the prices are the same everywhere. I kept thinking i'd find the thing I wanted for a better price in another shop if I just kept looking (and that is the case here in the US!) but after awhile I realized that pretty much every store charges the same price for most things. So if you see something you must have, go ahead and get it and don't waste time trying to find it for less!
