I wondered if any of you have spotted things in your internet (or real) design travels that make you question what you're looking at? Any fun pictures would be appreciated.

I saw this a few weeks back and then a friend just sent me an eBay link asking me about it, so I thought I'd share it here.

Is this a bespoke/handmade replica or is an attempt at a repair after the back legs failed?

I was none the wiser from the front, and when I saw the profile shot, I thought it looked a little odd. Initially I thought it's just been overstuffed; one of those upholstery jobs done by someone who has no idea what they're upholstering.

But the back legs themselves, but also the armrests going into them aren't right. I like a mysterious thing like this. But I like it from a distance...

Going with your latter conjecture here.

Beefed-up repair for a substantial client after an unfortunate (yet entertaining) moment at a holiday dinner!

The front legs are subtly wrong.  The armrests are wrong.  The rear legs are very wrong.  The backrest is wrong.  I see nothing that is right about the chair, so I think it is a craftsman’s recreation.  Nicely made.
