Hi all,
I'm putting in a closet in my home and thought it might be nice to have inset pulls to open the doors such as is found on Danish dressers. I'm having a very hard time finding anything that is cicular which I want. What I would like most of all is something similar to what Wegner used with some of his pieces.
Does anyone have any ideas?
You might make something with a passing resemblance to the Wegner pulls (I have that desk, btw, and love those pulls) by combining a rosette or button rosette with a wood knob.
Rosette cutter:

Knob:

cut the rosette, drill out the center, mount knob.
Wow Leif, great help! I ordered some teak pulls from the second link on your first post assuming that the company will send out such a small order to the US.
Hopefully that works as I'm not sure that I'm capable of makinking the Wegner-like knobs.
If all else fails I plan on waiting for something to come up on ebay Woodywood.
Funny thing is the pulls are going to cost more than the doors. But well worth it ofcourse.
Thanks for your help and when I get this done I'll post pictures.
We put the pulls on the closet doors and are pleased with the look. Waiting for the glue to fully cure to see how they work but I'm pretty confident that they'll do. I have some to put in the drawer fronts in the closet but I thought I would post these. Sorry for the poor quality images.
I ordered 16 pulls, 6 like on my closet doors and 10 like pictured below and with shipping it was $57
For the price they were perfect and I expected this but they are not as percisly cut as the pulls on my Danish furniture. If I knew how to use my router better or if I could afford to pay a woodworker I would defiantly make them myself. Maybe when I finish with romodeling I'll revisit this but somehow I doubt it.
Thanks for your help Lief, I wish I could keep you on retainer here during my remodel.
