In the midst of our downward spiraling economy and other various chaotic world events, I've been keeping busy on the side with some serious sofa hunting. I presently find myself debating the purchase of a loveseat rather than a sofa, and wanted to see what some folks here might think. First off, both me and my wife are somewhat spartan-types with no plans for children. Given this, an 80 to 90" barge seems a little big. Realistically, I rarely sit side by side with three or four people on a sofa. Ever. And the loveseats I see are typically pretty roomy, even for three people of zealous girth. Then again, there's that sprawl-factor a sofa allows, as well as the doghouse factor, too, I suppose. In any event, if anyone has had this dilemma and feels like sharing, well than I wish you would. I appreciate it.

my vote for 3 seater
you make the valid points for a 3 seater.
I think you would be so much happier with the three seater . I think a 2 seater looks out of place a lone., unless you have a very small place. or have other chairs around or a nice large lounge chair or perhaps 2 wassley chairs or 2 barcelona chairs then a 2 seater would look good standing a lone ,

Sofa
Go for the 3 seater. At least you have some flexibility there.

3 seater
Great for naps, lounging to read, sleep spot for guests, and afternoon sex.
I would rather have one good sofa than any other piece period. You cannot beat having a sofa you love simultaneously for aesthetics and comfort. Make sure yours has both!

Thanks for the input, gang....
Thanks for the input, gang. I do have some chairs that would be flanking my loveseat, if I went that way. I was also thinking about getting another matching loveseat one day and doing a sort of L thing. Anyway, maybe a sofa is a safer bet.
On that note, can anyone tell me approximately how much a standard Knoll sofa weighs?
