I came across the chair in the first picture online today and was struck by its obvious similarity to Adrian Pearsall's 2315-C chair (based on Lawrence Peabody's 598 chair for Selig). I was surprised to learn it was made in Mexico by Malinche of Monterrey, reportedly in the 50's. It looks like they made a number of pieces "inspired" by Danish and American designs, like the chairs in the second picture, clearly versions of the FD 144 chair by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. The third picture shows their maker's mark. The company started in 1909 and went out of business in the early 70's. Just thought I'd share since there was no information about the company here.
Yes, I don't speak Spanish, but I read the word is something of a Mexican insult, along the lines of traitor. According to their website (Malinche.com) the rights to the name were purchased in 2015 with plans to revive the company but it doesn't look like they have produced anything yet.
