Hi,

I came into possession of a D70 sofa, designed by Osvaldo Borsani for
Tecno. It's an early edition from the 50's.
The fabric is in remarkable good shape (but who knows, maybe this was replaced), but the upholstering itself, the foam, has lost its strenght.

Does anybody here have insight in the construction of this model, what the costs are of materials or having it done?

Pic is our particular sofa.

Thanks in advance!

Wow.
I know nothing about that sofa's construction... But I've always admired it. Very nice.

Thanks, fastfw! I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon this find. Actually, when faced with the opportunity to buy this from the original owners, together with some other really nice items, I had to go through great lengths so I could finally bring this baby home.
While the foam has become saggy, it still gives a very comfortable sit.
I wonder what it will feel like when re-upholstered. But I'm a bit weary about the cost..

Thanks, Tom! I read somewhere that the foam is formed to accomodate the design, so your a bit dependant of Tecno themselves..
I saw you had that high Tomado rack in one of your photos, the bigger one, with the ladder-like supports. A lucky find or bought from a dealer?
I have one but the grey shelves need some attention.
