Yes. All 71s have plywood backs. The top has a very complicated piece of edge banding over the exposed plywood edge. The bottom shows exposed plies. If you compare the grain of the 75 chair, with its solid teak back to the grain of a 71 chair, you will notice that the 71 always has grain characteristic of veneer.

By the way, it looks like that chair might have had screws put into the front leg and the holes patched.

Yes I noticed the patching too, that poor chair.
