I see them as Americana, so never out of style
and they are firmly rooted in the mid-century modern era. Besides every home needs a little bit of kitch!

Fun, practical
They last forever.
When you tire of them you repaint them and it is like having new chairs.
What is not to love? Except thet they get hot in the sun and um, warm your backside and exposed skin.
While they are not designer, they instantly communicate mid century.
I think they are iconic in the same way Levitown is iconic.

Still available
for a song at flea markets and garage sales throughout the southeastern US. Usually quite rusty. If antique dealers get their hands on them, the price goes up to about 75 to 125 dollars. Don't know about other parts of the country, but in the Bible Belt states, they are still found on porches in abundance.
