Good morning to all!
Aunt Mark has a question.
New lamps are arriving soon. Do you think that a 30ish pound lamp plopped on top of this glass side table would be a doomed marriage? I kind of like the table. It's rock solid (Roche Bobois). Am I asking for trouble? Should I wear protective eyewear? Or will it be love?
Many thanks,
Your Aunt Mark
The brass cap nut seems a somehow pedestrian finial on such an otherwise polished design and undersized to boot. Anything you can do to hide it will be an improvement, though 30lbs worth of camouflage might be pushing it. Thick plate glass is amazingly sturdy right up until the point of failure when it can be deadly. I recommend wearing Kevlar, chain mail, ballistic eye protection, a gorget, and, of course, Gucci loafers.
I think it will be fine.
And protective eyewear, evincing proper fealty to your brand, should be worn for the placing. No open toe shoes. Cameras should be on hand for the occasion.
It would perhaps be advised to provide a short quarantine period for the lamp to allow Mr Chopper to properly inspect it prior to its installalion on the precarious perch. Does Mr Chopper have protective eyewear?
