I haven't seen one of these up close yet, but I think I want one. Objects made in the shape of other objects (Alessi toilet brush shaped like a flower pot?) usually drive me nuts, but in this case...
Pure, minimal, and functional, or just gimmicky? The test might be this: Would it still seem valid to someone who had never seen the object that inspired it? Comments, DAs, please?
Really cool
I'm less crazy about alot of the post post post post modern stuff being made today, but this lamp is really quite elegant and reaking class...with a capitol K.
The only thing that might keep it from being super popular is (possibily) its price and it's rather huge footprint.
Irf I bought a table lamp today regardless of price...it would be the Arne jacobsen AJ Visor lamp in Graphite Grey.
It might yet be for sale
I was looking on Yahoo search and I found another link that said that it is only a prototype and that the company is looking for investors...so it might not yet be for sale.
Thus far, Ylighting - a good higher end lighting website - isn't offering it either.
Here's what the company says:
Thanks so much for your interest in the Paperclip Lamp! At the moment, the Paperclip Lamp is only a prototype - however, based on the amazing response we received from consumers and critics alike, we've already begun an active search for a manufacturing partner.
I'll keep you posted!
I've pasted a press release below that speaks a bit more in depth about the Paperclip Lamp and its origin just in case you're interested
Many thanks!
