I have had this chair for many years and never been able to find out its designer or maker. It is well crafted with detailed workmanship. Any help as its origin is very much appreciated.

It reminds me of the rocking chair @Amber5 posted last year.

I also saw a few other Italian-made chairs in a similar style, some attributed to Otto Gerdau.  There's not much info about them online, but from what I could find, The Otto Gerdau Co has been in business on Wall Street in NYC since 1872.  They were a importer/exporter of furniture from Italy for some period (50's to 70's?), including Danish and Italian style chairs.  I did not see any tags or catalogs identifying the actual maker of any of the Danish style chairs.

Thank you very much mark737 for your incredible detailed well research  input. I had a chance to buy the rocking version of my own  chair when I was buying mine. The link from @Amber5 help a lot too. After so many years the puzzle is solved for me and maybe for so many others - Thanks again

You're quite welcome.  It appears that none of these chairs has a maker's mark, so hopefully someone with knowledge of Italian makers will come along one day and let us know who made them.  Or maybe there's an Otto Gerdau catalog out there that lists a maker.  There are a couple of pages from Gerdau catalogs online but they are from the early 70s and do not show any of these chairs.
