Hi! Does anyone recognize this logo (or the tables)?

It has been asked about here before. I don't believe anybody knows what it is.

I figured it out!!

"Early design and manufactured by Charles France and Inger Daverkosen, the first founders of France & Son. "

Charles France. Neat!

Really? That would be quite interesting and surprising since Daverkosen would have been alive then. And early FD marks look extremely different and indeed include the D for Daverkosen. And I've seen extremely early pieces with the normal early FD mark, so there would not have been much time before then. Also FD did loose cushioned pieces because it was a mattress factory.

I think someone may have invented this explanation.

Maybe, but its from a Kindt-Larsen coffee table listing, which is what these tables are (there is a coffee and end table.) Given that France & Son made these exact pieces too, it sure seems likely.

I don't think I've ever seen a Kindt-Larsen for France coffee table with slats underneath. The side table is taller and has slats. I just consulted a range of France and Daverkosen and France and S

France and Son did not make these exact pieces too. This table clearly resembles model 510 and model 503/504 but the first one is shorter and the second one doesn't have a shelf. Besides both tables were designed around 1955, six years after the first Wanscher chair was produced under the name France and Daverkosen. The FD logo must have been established by then. Maybe it is a copy or the Kindt-Larsens also worked for a much lesser known producer at the time. By the way: Inger Daverkosen was never involved in the production of any furniture. She was the widow of Eric Daverkosen who founded the mattress factoy LAMA. When Eric Daverkosen got sick with tuberculosis he asked his old Friends Fearnley France to take over the business for a while which France did. But Daverkosen died shortly afterwards and France went into an equal partnership with his widow Inger who did not play an active part in the business.

Or what Leif said.

StaceyNeil: it would be interesting and probably useful in identifying this table to see better photos. It could be very instructive to see photos of the underside and hardware. Is it a flat pack table like the Kindt Larsen for France and S

It is also possible, although less likely I believe, that the letters are U and L.

I have F&S/John Stuart stamped side table b Kindt-Larsen as well as two side tables and the coffee table (with incorrect slats) with the CF burn. Will take pictures later, but the scale of the CF side table is about 15% smaller and is not solid teak like the F&S produced piece. Will take photos later.

I'm looking at a very long coffee table in the UK bearing this mark! I have to admit, I like it for being 185cm long, and the teak veneer is lovely. However, I was mostly intrigued because I remembered the mark and this conversation.

They're asking too much money, otherwise I'd buy it for research purposes! (Or to keep in my lounge, either or.)
