@herringbone;
You are welcome. I enjoyed the search and the thrill of uncovering all this exciting information about a, hitherto, relatively unknown company and helping to put the record straight!!!
If I come across any further information or documentation I will post it here. Also, in the meantime, if I get the appropriate opportunity, I will inform sellers /bloggers of the correct names of the designers, the chair models etc.
Interestingly, if you Google Madsen and Schubell now, some of the first hits are for this thread.YAY.
Job well done to all involved.
Lexi.
ps; and to think this adventure started when Ponyboy asked for help in identifying his trolley/bar cart, with a lovely chair in the background!!!

Apparently one chair was left out. According to Mr. Schubell, this one is also Madsen and Schubell. There's catalog proof that it was made in 1962. The chair is sometimes attributed to Ib Kofod-Larsen, but this attribution is false. Obviously.

Funny enough, there is a Dutch company called "Pols Potten" which also seems to have a crush on M&S. They recently decided to produce a knock off and market it all over Europe. They sell it under the name "Peggy". That's what it looks like:

@wesemael Bovenkamp did, as far as I know, work with another Danish designer who is as much a miracle as Madsen and Schubell were. Could you maybe search the Dutch newspaper archives and look if you find something about Severin Hansen jr. and Bovenkamp? I think his first name is Erik. But I'm not sure.

were you seethe same chair now called prag
@herringbone. Severin Hansen Jr is best known for his association with Haslev Mobelsnedkeri; they are still in existence today, so you could contact them for more info . Very little online about this designer ( 1887-1964). The "Erik" you refer to is possibly Erik Riisager Hansen ,who also designed for Haslev. Whether they are related or not I have no idea.
